BIG TYRE

1/8th Mile Heads up.  Flashlite start. Traditionally the fastest class, there are a lot of very capable big tyre cars in the UK.  Big Tyre is exactly what it says, any tyre size goes, now you can run a small tyre car in big tyre if you wanted to double class.  But you can’t do vice versa Other than safety there are no rules, as many power adders, no minimum weight, slicks, drag radial or treaded dot,  Run whatcha brung and hope you brung enough.

ALL WHEEL DRIVE

1/8th Mile Heads Up.  Other than safety, there are no rules, any tyre, any size motor, any Transmission, as many power adders as you want.

SMALL TYRE

1/8th Mile Heads Up. Flashlite Start. This class is by far the biggest in the States ATM.  It has just exploded, it has the biggest car counts.  Small Tyre is a maximum tyre width of 10.5 inches, other than that it’s the same as big tyre.

TAILGATE

1/8th Mile Heads Up.  Flashlite Start. This is a brand new class to the UK, this is a pickup truck only class, hence the name Tailgate. ( we might allow Jeeps)  There are a lot of real nice and a few fast trucks out there.  This will be a non tube chassis class, unless enough full tube trucks want to run.  In which case we will run them separately.  We want street or street appearing trucks, back half is fine, front half is fine.  If you are unsure, contact us.  Slicks allowed, two power adders, no weight or tyre size restrictions.  This could be a real fun class and if you double class you could run in maybe small tyre as well or big tyre.

FWD

1/8th Mile, Flashlite Start.  This is a class we have decided to trial, as there are a lot of very  good FWD cars out there now.  So if you support this class we will continue to run it.  The rules will be pretty simple and we will post them as soon as they are finalized.

STICK SHIFT

This could be FWD and RWD, no 4WD, as the sign says, needs to be a 3 pedal deal.  Any power adder, any size motor, any tyre type & size.

TRUE STREET

True street will be a full interior class, Taxed, Insured and Mot’d, will have to complete a cruise.  This class is Heads Up 1/8th mile eliminations.

DAILY DRIVER

This is same as above but cars will return from the cruise and drive straight to the staging lanes and run 3 passes back to back.  The winner will be the car that is the most consistent on their timeslip.

NOSTALGIA DOORSLAMMER

Same Rules as Small Tyre and Big Tyre Relatively stock appearing.

Any size motor, any power adders.

Any Tyre inc slicks, any size

No Min or Max Weight.

No full chassis tube chassis.

Does not need to be street legal.

Safety rules for car and driver apply relative to the speed and ET will apply.

All drivers must wear Firesuit and Crash Helmet

Any fuel allowed other than Nitro.

INDEX CLASSES

JUNIOR DRAGSTER

If there is enough interest, we will run Junior Dragster.

RWYB

As always test and tune, we do intend to have a timing system but this needs to be confirmed.   RWYB will run at ALL our event dates.

Our Sanctioning Body is NORA 92, If you do not have a NORA 92 License, then a NORA 92 single event license will be included in your racers and RWYB entry price which also includes membership for No Prep Racers Club (NPRC).

Rules for Safety and Car Tech, similar to rules found in the SPRC rulebook and previous Rockingham rules.  Our classes are different, so the rules applicable will relate to the equivalent classes terminal speed and ET wise.

All General Safety Rules of car construction and safety equipment rules will apply.  Unless an exemption is clearly stated below.

Competitors will be Tech’d in on their first attended event at Manston Raceway Park. The technical team will come to your pit to technically inspect your car.

Once a car has competed at Manston, there will be a self declaration to be signed by the driver at further events.

If the driver makes any major changes to his car, it is his or her responsibility to inform the Tech Crew of any changes, this will then require the Tech Crew to check the car for compliance again.

You know your cars better than we do, therefore it is the DRIVER and CREWS responsibility to always bring a safe car to the racetrack.  For your safety and for the safety of the driver in the other lane.  The Tech procedure  is merely there to check everything is present and correct and to spot any potential faults.

The following exceptions and additions to the standard Drag Racing GSR rules apply.

Date expiry rules for SFI and FIA safety equipment, Drivers personal equipment and car.  These are now, in most cases, judged upon appearance and of being in good condition.

Daily drivers and the need to wear a HANS device if a 5 or 6 point harness is present.  It is recommended but will not become mandatory unless the car is capable of running below a 7 second 1/8th mile ET.

For RWYB you will have to wear a crash helmet, no T-Shirts and Shorts.  We will have crash helmets available for hire if you do not have one.
